It's a good time, is now. I can feel it. I can feel it like the witches' brew, steaming cauldron; the time is now.
February 25th: The New Piscean Moon + Alpha Dog
Trying to Not Watch the Clock

Today has been so long. So long. And no lunch. I blame Bob. So, instead, I took the quiz Miss Stephanie has recommended. It is a quiz to tell you your decorating style. Mine came up with this:
50% French Eclectic
25% Zen Style
25% Hollywood Couture
What is yours? Click here.

I really love this look, captured by the Face Hunter. I love the colors and the textures and that it's not overly "fashiony", yet it is playing off of trends, yet, twisting then just enough to make them her own. Bravo.
February 24: New Moon = Black Moon = No Moon = 10 Wishes

Today is a new moon. It is a new moon in Pisces which means shit is wacky. Translation: It is a good time to figure out and interpret the darker sides of things. In any case, I feel much more alive and well today. Hooray.
I am wearing a blazer designed by my mother, what a talent. She modeled this blazer after drawing inspiration from Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. She made the blazer with a 4-way stretch material that super heavy and awesome. She said Uma needs something to dance in. Or, in my case, something to type in.
It's Blitz!

I've been listening to the new Yeah Yeah Yeah's album, It's Blitz!, and I'm pretty excited. It releases in April. Go get it. If you click on the image above it will take you to a place in which you may listen to some of it.
The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw
You know what the sound of a garbage can being wheeled onto the street is like? Well, that's what blowing my nose sounds like. You couldn't beat the sick out of me with a stick. I'm convinced, that's it, I'm Dying. I know, it's no laughing matter. Seriously, I think my kidneys will pop right out from their shriveled little nests that lie to each side of my curved lumbar if I so much as give a giggle. Coughing is crippling.
Being sick is a good time to catch up on all of those crap movies you've never bothered wasting your time with before. In the past 2 days, Netflix has provided a plethora of mind numbing entertainment to enable my sick ass to fall asleep. I have watched (however, not in their entirety), and in no particular order - although, I must say it was a fairly linear process. I'd find one cute actor and then watch the next busted movie they were in, pick another and so on and so forth. Try and guess how all of these movies link up:
Across the Universe
21
The Other Boleyn Girl
Becoming Jane
Penelope
After a bizarre movie about a girl born with the nose of a pig, I decided my fever was definitely out of control and started watching things that I knew wouldn't give me paranoid delusions when I fell asleep. So, I then toggled between old episodes of The Office and Weeds.
“In Time of Sickness the Soul Collects Itself Anew”
I am combatting a kidney infection. Really? Who the hells gets this sort of thing? And, thank goodness to Shelly for reminding me that symptoms such as a fever over 101 and severe lower back pain could warrant going to the doctor, otherwise I would have tried to shake it with tea and rest. Anyway, what this brings to my attention is the act of bathing, and of baths, and of men and baths, in particular.
It has been my finding that men love baths. I don't understand. I, personally don't really like baths: the water gets cold, the bubbles die down, and you have to actually shower afterward to wash your hair or shave. Perhaps the bath is the mark of extravagance in the purest of forms. Now, back to the men/bath argument. I think men love taking baths because most of the aforementioned doesn't really apply to them. First off, men rarely wash their hair, nor do they use bubble bath, and bathing probably helps their shaving habits by moisturizing their face and thus, making shaving when they get out actually easier. My other opinion on the matter is that it may be something that is deemed as luxurious and feminine that can be done in private with relatively low guilt.
So, when my male friend suggests that I should take a bath to reduce my fever, my answer is: No thank you; I'd rather stand in the shower under consistently hot water and wash my hair.
I Hope All of You Have Been Hugged So Hard as to Make Your Eyes Pop!
You know, oddly enough, I'm a big fan of Valentine's Day. Mine was filled with friends and dancing and food and smiles and lipstick. Also, it's a good time to have friends when they tell you the honest truth that the black sparkly number is more flattering than a fuchsia ruffle thing; thank you ladies.

I Deer You to Print Me!

So, this is going to be the first layer of my next print. I have no idea what this one is going to turn out like. Oh joy!
February 10: Black and Tan

My momma gave me that print of the dog some years ago. She bought it off a guy selling his art on the street in Manhattan; she bought it because the dog looks just like Solo (my pup). She also bought the watch I wear all of the time the same day from another artist - it's a pretty unique watch.
Dress - thrifted
Hat - Victor Osbourne
Tights - urban Outfitters
Boots - Frye
Drumgasm
I just listened to this song so god damn loud on my way back down Little Cottonwood Canyon, in the dark, in the snow, in the now. Holy smokes. If you dont already have the Melvins album, Senile Animal, go get it now and listen to "A History of Bad Men."
February 8: You Don't Bring Me Flowers
February 7: Training Day!

So, today I ran. I ran to train for the 10K in April. I am not a runner; I am a swimmer. My entire body now hates me. However, I'm fairly positive that my body will learn to love me again. I ran in the park with some friends, and let me tell you - the King doesn't disappoint. He came to run in cut off jean shorts = amazing.
On Repeat: Calexico
Calexico is hit or miss with me. However, I recommend their newest album, Carried to Dust very much. Pitchfork has the song, "Two Silver Trees" (my personal favorite as of now) available for download - click here. I think this is the perfect road trip album; it should come in handy for me in a couple of weeks. Anyone wanna drive to CA with me and pick up a parrot!?
Hot Damn! Hot Pink!

The jacket is one of my momma's designs from the 80s. Very Rick Owens. Maybe Rick Owens bit my mom's style.
Also, today I found a clear hair on my head! Like a grey hair, but it was clear...like an albino follicle. I put it on a piece of tape and saved it.
Oh, Life - Why Must You Be So Arduous?
Based on the Basis of Why the Fuck Not
I've decided to start taking photos of myself again.
Also noteworthy, I slammed down on the sidewalk last night like a ton of bricks. I laughed my ass off when I got up, brushed the ice chips from my hip and continued walking. Sometimes it's fun to fall down and remember that as composed as one may seem, one is still vulnerable. I've been so busy trying to be happy, that really all I needed was a bruise the size of China on a map to make me genuinely smile.
Christopher Davison

I don't know anything about this dude, other than that I love this painting. You can buy a digital print of it here.
Don't Deem Me As Totally Crazy, Yet

So, I've been really into tarot card readings and I must admit, I've gotten pretty good. I really want to expand my knowledge in any way possible and one way of doing so is via the interweb. I thought it sketchy at first, but then I thought, "hey, why not?"
If you want a free online tarot reading, please email me at killerwhaleseatseals@hotmail.com. If you're in the Salt Lake or Los Angeles area, let me know if you'd like an in person reading and we'll make it happen too.
I will read from the Aquarian deck (as the image is from above) or from the classic Rider-Waite deck. Let me know which you prefer and I will do it. I preform the Love & Relationships Spread and the more well-known, Celtic Cross Spread.
You will have to tell me your birth day and month and general physical features, i.e., hair and eye color. Also, of course, the question you'd like the reading to focus on.
